For me, it happens when I light up a smoke - the filter takes me back to one year ago...
Tricks my brain into thinking I must be drinking with friends I've known and will always know.
It's funny how a smell triggers thoughts like a song can bring back three minutes you've forgotten
Of love gone wrong, or maybe friends gone right - and it's trying to think you'll only think of them at night

Like an August afternoon offers me the shot to fantasize life, I pretend it's hot outside
So, I dress light and grab a pack as if I'm traveling to Costa Rica and back
I step into a breeze as quiet as a time when camp fires spoke for us and crackled in rhyme
Gazing at these creatures, I am all alone to catch my dreams in the act of taking me home...
